New site, new rules?

Hey, as you can see this is the site’s new design. Along with this new redesign comes a couple of changes. Basically I just want to have a slightly more professional presentation. You can kind of just follow my lead with it.

So, in order to do that I’m going to go back and limit who can publish their posts immediately. Everyone will still be able to write and save their posts, this will just allow an administrator or editor to look over the post before it goes up on the site. Those of you who make posts, please just try and follow the guidelines(soon to be updated) and you’ll get your post published quickly. Basically have your posts pass basic spelling and grammar checks. Give descriptions to the bands that are playing. You know, basic stuff that you should be doing anyway. The better you write it, the faster it’ll get put up on the site.

This also means I’m looking for a little more help. I need a couple of “editors” that will look over posts before publishing them. I’m also looking for any input on the direction the site is going. What do you think?

The update isn’t completely finished. In fact, somethings are just broken right now. Like the admin dashboard and the gallery. Sorry. Hopefully I can get everything fixed soon. I really wanted to put it all out at once, but those problems I ran into really fucked things up. I just wanted to get this out their while I figure everything else out. Anyway. Yeah. There might be some down time over the rest of the week.

Meanwhile, check out what David has done with the bands page. I think it looks fantastic. If you have anything to add please contact him.

It looks real fine. I miss the photos at the top. They created a sort of context. Also, there’s a distance between the feature article and the rest of the articles, a large empty space with stuff on either side. Is that a function of the page or is that a user configuration issue? Thanks and this looks great.

I think it looks really good, Jeff. Oh and ass_rabbit- I think the “I Need Money” is just the heading for the the Google ads. ;)

Yeah, I don’t have a paypal link, I just thought it’d be funny to give the ads that title. They’re pretty cheesy.

What browser are you using, ass rabit? That’s not what it’s supposed to look like. I tested it in Firefox and IE7. I didn’t plan on taking advantage of the featured article thing much anyway, so if it’s broken I just won’t use it.

Cody, what do you need to use html for? Some html tags work. Images don’t. I can look into enabling it, but it’s mostly a security/page breaking issue.
