Really? You couldn’t find any better bands that enjoy smoking weed?
By Actually on Aug 21, 2008 | Reply
Actually, a lot of people enjoy those bands.

I can’t find any info on the others, but Popheads and Mujabica kick ass. I’m not missing this show!

You would be hard pressed to find one Mujabica fan that isn’t a friend of theirs. I would rather listen to any boring jam band than be forced to hear that out of tune, banshee in pain sounding shit one more time.

Jam bands and ganja go together like a joint and another joint, mister No Actually. YMMV.

Nothing goes better with weed than the new baroness album.

So, it goes best?

nothing makes me want to party less and sleep more than weed and jam bands.

Nothing makes me want to punch people in the face more than pretentious hipsters.
I don’t smoke weed, I don’t like these bands, and I won’t be going. So, if you don’t like the music, don’t go. This guy isn’t forcing you to go to NORML’s show. They have just as much right as anyone else to post on the site without being put down.
Good luck on the show.

What’s wrong with having an opinion? If the majority of the people on this site don’t think those bands are good then those bands are going to get hated on, it’s as simple as that. This site is elitist and caters to a certain scene. If you don’t like it, get out!

imprisonment for personal cultivation or use of marijuana and the consequences thereof can be quite detrimental to a person’s life
there is a nasty-colored spectrum of social phenomena that need improving
so don’t fuck our cause because we aren’t trying to fuck yours
By Kacie on Sep 3, 2008 | Reply
i don’t care either way, but i think it’s funny that it’s called “a good cause.”
also,
“imprisonment for personal cultivation or use of marijuana and the consequences thereof can be quite detrimental to a person’s life”
then don’t do it if you are worried about it??? it’s not like anyone is making you nor does it make your life any better.
By TrishTrash on Sep 3, 2008 | Reply
really? this just seems silly.
By Paul Ådland on Sep 4, 2008 | Reply
Your cause isn’t a “cause”
it’s a damn fool’s mission
when funds could be put into something much better
like feeding the homeless
so don’t think you are doing anything good when you could make an actual impact with a real cause…

Each and every citizen of the United States of America spend $185 in taxes every year as a result of marijuana prohibition. So to tell us that it only affects you if you participate, is a lie.
Innocent people have died as a result of marijuana prohibition as well, and I’m talking about people who have never used the drug. Military resources are tied up in fighting marijuana grow operations, police resources are tied up fighting possession cases when they could be fighting real crime. Many people are homeless because they get arrested on felony charges when young and become disenfranchised, because of marijuana. Police corruption is rising constantly because there’s huge incentives in raiding grow houses, some departments use it as their main source of funding. If the police get their funding from the grows, then they need to grows, and therefor have no incentive to actually fight marijuana.
It creates disrespect for the law. 13% of drug users are black, yet 67% of the people put in jail for drugs are black.
The drug war and the war on marijuana affects every person at every rung of society. To tell us that our cause is unimportant is not only foolish but just down-right ignorant.
I could go on for hours, but I won’t.
My point is, think before you speak.

yet most homeless folks have mental problems that could be served with an adequate healthcare system and not from the ending of prohibition…
so think BEFORE you speak…

i mean, why work for the legalization of it instead of working towards…people not using it? if people didn’t use it it wouldn’t be a problem, right? i know this is unreasonable, but it doesn’t really make sense to me as to why you would want it legalized and not every other drug that causes us to pay taxes and/or puts people in jail.
By John Mola on Sep 8, 2008 | Reply
I support the legalization and reformation of every drug. Prohibition doesn’t work on all fronts.
I smoke pot probably once every month, and usually less than that.
I am well aware there’s more to life than getting high.
I appreciate all of your enthusiasm and figured I’d like you all know we raised 1,658+ dollars. We also raised a couple hundred for the Veterans Association in the process.
