Fun things to do around town/upcoming events thread

NERD ALERT!

So I've been spending waaaay too much money at bars and on drinks! I guess I'm trying to find more interesting things to do, although I still will definitely partake in the public drink on occasion. Or maybe all the time, just whilst doing other things....hmm...

anyway I compiled a list of some things coming up that I'm excited about doing, adn thought i'd post it here in case other people were interested, and to see if other people have similar things they know about. Feel free to respond with things you're excited about doing. Maybe we can keep this running with fun upcoming events. I'll post more as I find out about things.

Really I'm just mining you all for things I don't know about going on around town.

also, i will vouch for how much cooler this show is than the monster jam they run at the civic center. this shit is bonkers! we went last year and EVERY SINGLE TRUCK flipped over and was wrecked during the freestyle competition they do after the traditional jumps/races.

3/27: Springtime Tallahassee

Grand Parade 10:30a.m.
 The 42nd Annual Springtime Tallahassee Grand Parade will "Leap Into Spring" March 27th at 10:30a.m. The parade begins at the intersection of Monroe Street and Thomasville Road and travels south on Monroe Street past the Florida Capitol ending at Gaines Street. The first Springtime parade featured many costumes and only horse drawn units. Today, the parade still includes horse-drawn carriages to provide a bit of nostalgia; however, it also boosts elaborately clad characters and spectaular mechanical floats from all over the southeastern United States. Springtime Tallahassee is considered one of the biggest southeastern parades and craft shows, attracting over 70,000 spectators.

Jubilee in the Park 9:30a.m.-5:00p.m.
Let the good times continue...as the Jubilee winds its way through downtown Tallahassee offering a plethora of sights, sounds, and activities. Music, food, arts and crafts will abound. Arts and Crafts booths will showcase over 250 local, regional and national vendors. There will literally be something for everyone. The Jubilee will take place off Monroe Street on Adams Street, Duval Street, Park Avenue, and College Avenue.
